Marchuwhump Day 1?

AH, ok. I admit, It's the 6th. But hey, I'll just quickly post 1-6, oki?

OKI!

Prompt: Amnesia

Noelle blinked open her eyes. Rays of sunlight made its way through the windows. Yellow curtains hung loosely in front of the window. Birds cheerfully tweeted outside.

“Where am I?” She asked aloud. No one could hear her. She sat up in bed and turned to face the door. Her small feet touched the tile floors.

“brr!” Noelle rapped a robe around her body and slipped on slippers. She walked to the window sill and gazed out the window. She heard someone coming and rushed back into the bed.

“Honey!” Her mom burst through the hospital doors and ran to her, arms open wide. “I’m so glad you are awake!”

Noelle only stared.

“Who are you?” Noelle asked, her voice was shivering. “And where am I?”

Her mom’s face fell.

“I- I’m your mother!” she replied, startled.

“Why are you here? I don’t even know you,” Noelle said firmly.

Her mother was shocked. She wanted her little girl back in her arms. Sitting on the swings, laughing while running back into the house, and singing all the time. She expected it would only last a while. Her mother lay a hand on Noelle’s shoulder. Noelle glared at her mother and shrugged off her hand.

“Honey,” her mom began.

“Don’t call me ‘honey’,” Noelle snarled.

“Noelle Charlotte-Victoria Johnson, how dare you mock me!” Her mother demanded.

Noelle took a second to breath. She pushed a lock of her blonde hair away from her face and said, “I said, Don’t. Call. Me. Honey.”

“I have the right to call you anything,” Her mother retorted.

“Can you leave,” Noelle said hurriedly. She turned her head away from her mother. Her mother sighed.

A nurse pushed through the glass door. She had a clip-board in one hand and a pen in the other,

“Mrs. Johnson? Visiting time is over, I’m afraid. Your daughter will be fine. She seems stressed and tense. It would be better to leave her,” The nurse said gently.

Mrs. Johnson gave one last longing gaze towards her daughter and replied, “Of course. I’ll come back in the morning.”

Jessica, the nurse, turned to escort her out of the room. Noelle gave a small smile. She lay back in bed and relaxed.

I stepped out of the house and a gush of wind nearly ran me over. With the wind in my hair and snacks, pillows, and blankets in my arms, I walked down the steps of the porch and towards my treehouse.
